At the end of June we moved everything in a big truck across the country to San Francisco, California. I’m going to be working at a new school teaching 4th grade! It was a long drive but we saw a lot of beautiful things.

Here is some of the corn we saw growing in Nebraska. There was corn growing EVERYWHERE! People from Nebraska are known as “cornhuskers”. They’re also famous for their Runza sandwiches and Dorothy Lynch salad dressing.

This is a rock formation that was next to our hotel in Wyoming.

We stopped in Salt Lake City, Utah for a few days to visit family and hiked up Mount Olympus. It was a really hard hike and my knees still hurt!

This picture shows the Bonneville Salt Flats. It’s a giant field of salt that was left behind after a prehistoric lake evaporated.

We made it to California and the Pacific Ocean! Here is a sand dollar with some barnacles’ calcareous plates still attached.
