I took my first flying lessons today at the Washington International Flight Academy. My instructor taught me what to do if the engine fails — he actually turned the engine off while we were in the air and it was really frightening! I’m glad I know what to do now though.

Hi everyone! I’m sorry it’s been so long since I’ve updated this blog. Everything is going well down here at my new school. I’m teaching 3rd grade again. Arbor Day 2016

I took my class outside a few weeks ago to do some tree-hugging for Arbor Day. We’re lucky to have a big field with lots of tree behind our school. Have you ever tried hugging a tree? If you get a chance, please send me a note to let me know how you’re doing! I miss my students from PS 89!

According to countless studies, students show extreme psychological and physiological effects in term of improved health and well-being when they interact with plants. It was recorded that students function better cognitively and emotionally in green environments and have more creative play in green areas.
A large public health report studying the association between green spaces and mental health also noted that “access to nature can significantly contribute to our mental capability and well being.”
