Hi everyone! Happy New Year!
I went to Utah during winter break and wanted to share some photos with you guys!
I got a chance to see Spiral Jetty, a giant work of art that an artist named Robert Smithson created in the Great Salt Lake in 1970. He used a bunch of trucks to put tons of lava rock into the shape of a spiral at the edge of the very salty lake!
Here we are levitating over the salt flats.
When the water evaporates, you can see huge salt crystals.
Here is a cute cow I met on the road to Spiral Jetty!
I also got to see the “golden spike”. The “golden spike” is the ceremonial spike used to connect the first transcontinental railroad across the United States. This is the place where the railroad from the east coast finally connected to the railroad from the west coast!
